From Mississippi to California: The Rise of Bigg Sipp

Born in California and raised between Mt. Olive and Georgetown, Mississippi, Bigg Sipp is one of the most talented up and coming artist in the game.

Originally known by the name Who Me, Bigg Sipp discovered his passion for music at just 16 years old. What started as a natural gift quickly turned into something deeper. Writing and recording came naturally, but it was the reaction from people around him that pushed him to take music seriously. Their support helped him realize he had a voice worth hearing.

His musical influences helped shape that voice. Growing up, he listened to legends like Tupac, Biggie, Jadakiss, and 50 Cent, while also drawing inspiration from soulful artists like Al Green and Sir Charles Jones. That mix of raw storytelling, street perspective, and soul became a major part of his sound.

In 2004, Bigg Sipp released his first project, Hood Hits Vol. 1, introducing listeners to his authentic Southern storytelling. A year later, he followed with Katrina Flooding the Streets, a powerful project inspired by the devastation and aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, capturing a painful but important chapter for the Gulf Coast.

After relocating to California, Bigg Sipp continued building his catalog, releasing The Mixtape in 2009. Soon after, life required his attention elsewhere, leading him to step away from music for several years. But even during that break, the passion never disappeared.

In 2020, he returned with Against All Odds, a project that reflected everything he had endured and overcome. He followed that with P.M.L. in 2021, reconnecting with longtime supporters while introducing himself to a new audience.

Today, Bigg Sipp records either in Downtown Los Angeles or from his home studio, continuing to sharpen his sound while staying independent and consistent.

But music is only one part of his story.

Bigg Sipp has also built a strong foundation as an entrepreneur. He owns Mxd Options, a food and catering business, SippiCuts, his barbershop, and a clothing brand called Onna Alive Homies. Each business reflects the same work ethic and determination that drives his music. For Bigg Sipp, success has always been bigger than one lane.

Now, in 2026, he enters a new chapter with the upcoming release of Sipp and Redd, a collaborative project produced by ReddNThaBuildng and set to release August 7, presented by The Artist Connect. The album represents growth, experience, and evolution—blending Southern roots, West Coast influence, and real-life storytelling into a sound that feels authentic to who he is today.

Above all, Bigg Sipp’s story is about belief.

Through every setback, every pause, and every new chapter, he kept going. And if there’s one person he wants to acknowledge, it’s himself—for never giving up on the dream.

As he puts it: “Chin up, chest out, Soulja.”
