Growing up on the North Side of Rochester, New York, V. Ciannii’s story was shaped by his environment, his family, and the lessons he learned along the way. Before the music, before the recognition, and before the journey of rebuilding himself, he was a young kid trying to find his way in a world that often gave him more questions than answers.
Coming from a Puerto Rican family, V. Ciannii experienced a unique upbringing. His parents came from the island and did not speak English fluently, creating challenges when it came to expressing himself and opening up about personal struggles. Without always having the ability to communicate those feelings at home, he often found comfort and guidance through the families of his friends.
As he got older, he began to realize that some of the lessons he received from older figures around him were not always leading him in the right direction. Those experiences became something he carried with him, but they also became motivation. V. Ciannii made a commitment that he would not allow his own children to inherit the same struggles. His goal became bigger than himself — it became about breaking the cycle and creating a different future for his family.
Music was always a part of his life. Formerly known as Blaze Chop, V. Ciannii has been creating music for as long as he can remember. His early career helped lead to the creation of the Chop Boyz movement in Rochester, a movement that represented brotherhood, loyalty, and a shared vision among artists coming from the city.
But in 2015, his life took a major turn when he was sentenced to five years in prison. That period became a defining chapter in his story. Instead of allowing incarceration to take away from his future, he used the time to rebuild himself. He focused on education, reading books about the music industry, and learning how to better understand himself and his purpose.
Prison became a reset point. It gave him time to reflect, grow, and prepare for the next chapter of his life.
After returning home, V. Ciannii continued to push forward while carrying the memories of the people who helped shape him. The loss of his brothers Gotti and SB deeply impacted him, but their influence continues to live through his music. Their bond, their vision, and their memories became a major source of inspiration behind his work.
His journey has also included moments of survival that changed his perspective forever. After being shot five times, V. Ciannii had to overcome both physical and mental challenges during his recovery. That experience became another reminder of his purpose and fueled his determination to continue telling his story through music.
Throughout his career, he has also gained valuable knowledge from artists and industry leaders who helped him understand the business side of music. He credits 38 Spesh with giving him important advice about the industry, including understanding streaming, building a dedicated fanbase, and treating his career with a stronger business mindset.
Now, V. Ciannii continues to honor his journey through his music. His latest project, “Pain Into Profit,”represents growth, transformation, and turning difficult experiences into motivation. The project serves as another chapter in a story built on resilience, while also paying tribute to the people and moments that helped shape him.
